How do I find my way around DUMC?
We have been praying for you and will be looking for you! Our Greeters are ready to help you and your family find your way to worship and all those other important places, as well as provide you with our worship program and answer questions you may have.
What do I wear?
Worship
Dress comfortably. Some who attend wear ‘Sunday Best,’ but most wear comfortable clothes. Don’t worry about what you wear – just come to worship God and get to know us.
What do I bring?
You can bring your Bible if you have one (either traditional or digital). While each of our worship services is Bible-based, Bibles are provided in the Sanctuary pews for your convenience. We use video projection in both services, so most song lyrics and scriptures will be on the screen as well.
What about my children?
At DUMC, your children are always welcome! We worship in a family style in which all members of the family are encouraged to attend. We provide busy bags for our youngest worshippers and there is a "cry room" directly off the Narthex. The sounds of children are some of our favorite things to hear in worship!
Do you have Sunday School?
Yes, adult Sunday School for all ages is from 11:15 a.m - noon every Sunday morning. Sunday School classes are a great way to connect with other people. You can build friendships, learn more about the life of our church, and have the opportunity to grow in your faith.

How can I meet others and connect?
There are many ways to get involved. Start by chatting with anyone you see! You’ll find a warm welcome from anyone in our church family, and our minister would love to meet you following the service. Missions
Missions is at the heart of DUMC. We provide multiple opportunities to serve which are aimed at sharing the love of Christ with the community
around us and growing our own faith experience via service and fellowship. Some of the regular mission’s activities are:
After children’s time, during service, our children proceed thru the church collecting coins and canned goods. The coins are collected for a month, totaled and given to a local charity to assist in their community activities. The food is collected and given to the District 5 Family Ministries that collaborates with area churches and community partners to offer a food pantry, emergency utility assistance and financial education to the local community.
At the beginning of each school year the
church collects supplies such as; backpacks, paper, pencils, pens, crayons,
glue, notepads, folders…etc… These are given to the Tyger River
Community Center, https://www.middletyger.org, who then distributes
them to children of the community as needed.
Each year names of Children are
selected by members of the church, along with a list of the wishes. The
members then purchase those wishes and the items are provided to the
family for a happy Christmas, for all.
The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to provide God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.
This is a project where small items are prepared and placed in a “shoebox”. These items are such as; pencils, crayons, sticky pads, small toys…etc…. These items are then transported to Samaritan’s Purse, https://www.samaritanspurse.org, at the Billy Graham Center for distribution to children the world.
The “Ed Project” https://edprojectzambia.com English is the national language of Zambia, but many Zambian children grow up speaking only their native language and never make it past the 6th grade. Zambian students test poorly compared to neighboring countries such as South
Africa. Only 6 out of 10 children even reach the 6th grade. With only 3 out of 10 being able to read. The lack of education keeps them in a cycle of poverty. The Goal of the ED Project is to help Zambian children learn to speak, read and write English by providing early learning opportunities in village communities. The ED Project's primary focus is the Pre-School education program. This project includes teacher training, collection and distributing of school supplies, books and a nutritional feeding program.
